it was sunny but chilly
walking on that manmade path
a little bit of normal in a lot of chaos
flapping ducks, roaming dogs
looking at the orderly houses all neatly stacked side by side
it reminded me of my childhood...
concrete surrounding us
the hum of the electrical towers in the background
dashing around cars to find lost balls
playing leapfrog with concrete barriers
and ending a perfectly good day
by making a very sound decision to
kindly decline the druggie for his goods
and instead paying a visit to the local U-Save to buy a 5cent piece of gum
with a joke inside
which i'd inevitably not totally understand
making me wish i had taken the druggie up for some goods
so that i could understand what the joke was about
hmmm, life was sure hard back then!
