blogging
i recently read how google and other companies are making money off the backs of bloggers
how? i'm not quite certain
i guess it's become a multi-million dollar venture
interesting how money can be made on anything these days
i'm not bitter as i can't complain
i enjoy having a format to scribble down my thoughts
intended of course, just for my friends
but i know very well that invisible eyes maybe peaking just out of curiosity or purely by chance as a simple search for "apples" for example could lead you anywhere in cyberspace
and for those who don't blog or do other similar things,
you're asking why publish personal thoughts for the world to read?
well, i guess for me it's a way to stay in touch, to reveal a bit of yourself "uninhibited" to friends you don't have the time to share with personally
to be honest, it's a very impersonal way to keep friends "in touch"
i'd much rather spend time talking
as in a conversation, there is no editing
it's like comparing a hand-written birthday card and an electronic e-card
i'd much rather have the former as anyone can simply set-up a scheduled e-card to be sent out on my birthday
but i know all our lives are terribly busy so i guess an e-card or a blog entry will just have to do for now
until i get that bit of land in the middle of nowhere and before arthritis and blindness set in, then i'll spend my days writing personal letters and birthday cards

I'm looking forward to when that day comes. The arthritis and blindness part, not the cards.
