ignorance, fear, hatred

it's easy to blame those who propagate racism through hatred
but ignorance and fear breed the same propaganda
i may not hate anyone of colour
as i am part of this myriad of hue
but my ignorance and fear
i am totally ashamed
i wish i could erase all that i was taught
for no one deserves to be judged
either it be by the colour of their skin, their faith, their beliefs
sometimes i wish i had grown up in a bubble
naive as i would have been
there's some comfort in that purity
when did the first tainted drops fall?
