traffic
sometimes i wish i'd listen more to my intuition
woke up this morning, seriously contemplating skipping school - but no, i decided to submit to my conscience instead
thankfully I did decide to fill my nearly empty tank this morning - something i've never done before work
so, i'm presently stuck in the worst bit of traffic
present time: 2h18min since departure
what's happened so far?
desperate urge to go to the bathroom : time: 1h of desparate urge
of course, as my life events tend to always be so ironic, i just happened to have had an exceedingly large amount of caffeine today of all days
i thought my bladder was going to spontaneously erupt
the pee situation was getting so bad that i was contemplating just going either in the car or out in plain view of the traffic!
finally, moved up far enough to pull over and rush into wendy's (the girl in front of me had apparently the same predicament)
let's just say that i have never experienced such heavenly relief in my life
so, another 30min elapses and i've managed to move 5ft
the street lights start to flicker and i'm thinking there's no chance that there could be a blackout
but apparently, there was just enough luck
yes, sat about 15ft from wendy's in a blacked out street for another 30min
and just thankful that my bladder's empty now, i have a full tank and i've got my palm and of course, tunes
i'm noticing that the radio stations are extremely sarcastic
playing songs like “long way”, “stuck in between a rock and a hard place”
and as if the world is mocking me
i'm starving and what do i see?
a huge sign asking simply, 'hungry?' or 'sorry for any inconvenience'
i'm also noticing a preponderance of adult shops
something i've never noticed before as i normally don't spend 3h on the same strip of road
time: 4h since departure
good news: i'm on a new street!
what could be worse than stuck in traffic for 4h?
having to pay a cab fare! saw a taxi cab with passenger. presently fare is at $22
urge to pee has come back time now: 5h since departure
the rest of the trip was listening to tunes
noticed that i was out there long enough to start seeing the snow melt
total time: 6h; total distance: 10km

oh my heavens!!! that's horrible!!
survivor gal. IF i wasn't all unconscious in dreamland already (slept at 530pm) I would have invited you up for a warm cup and free reign of the bathroom. Call next time, but i hope there wun be a next time either. =P
