ACTS OF KINDNESS
I thought it would be nice to start this. I saw it in the Toronto Star. People posting stories of random acts of kindness.
I have my own story. Actually, I have a few but I'll start with this one since it was in the recent past.
Having a history of horrendous meals and cooking inability, I was pleasantly surprised one day when I arrived at the gym and my trainer had prepared me a meal! It's definitely not in her work description (although I insist it being added) and the meal wasn't much, an egg sandwich, but it reminded me of those little things your mom would do when she would pack your lunch. A little added surprise. I still carry around the note my mom wrote me once for my birthday. She had laid it out with the customary eggs you get (chinese tradition). All in broken english, written twice cause she had spelt birthday wrong the first time. It was the first thing I saw when I came down for breakfast that day. She had gone off to work at the ridiculous hour of 7am. She was always an early riser. If you ever see my mom at 5:30am, it's like she's on Ritalin. Dishes are done, workout, lunch and breakfast for herself and my dad, sometimes she's even got part of dinner prepped and still she made time for me. It still gets me all choked up.
